Carisma Mercedes-Benz Viano Van Offers Discreet Luxury

Little Brother to Sprinter Offers Low-Profile Opulence

May 29, 2013
Carisma Auto Design may not be a household name in the U.S., but the Colchester, England-based vehicle customizer has been in business for 14 years and specializes in executive luxury conversions of popular passenger vans. The company chose the Mercedes-Benz Viano, a rear-drive van smaller than the Sprinter, to showcase its latest executive transport package.

Clive Drake, sales and marketing director for Carisma, emphasized the bespoke nature of the company's creations. "Clients come to us because they know that we can achieve the impossible and deliver a vehicle to them that exceeds their expectations," he said.
Among the premium materials used by Carisma in its conversions is leather sourced from cattle raised in barbed wire-free environments to ensure the highest quality hides, handcrafted wood veneers, and state-of-the-art electronics and entertainment systems, including Bang & Olufsen audio.

Drake said many of the company's clients are heads of state or executives who prefer to travel discreetly and desire the anonymity provided by a van, rather than the conspicuous nature of a traditional limousine. In addition to the Viano, Carisma has experience with custom conversions on Land Rover and Volkswagen vehicles, among others, and has an official converter agreement with Mercedes-Benz, allowing its vehicles to be delivered with the warranty intact to selected countries.
