2014 Audi SQ5 Pricing Starts at $52,795
First S Crossover Variant Sold In U.S.
After announcing pricing and fuel economy information on the other 2014 Audi Q5 models within the past few weeks, Audi is finally releasing pricing on what's sure to be the enthusiast's favorite Q5 model, the 354-hp, supercharged SQ5. Coming in at $52,795 including $895 destination, the SQ5 is definitely no bargain-basement dweller, but comes packed with high-tech performance hardware that promises to make it an engaging drive.
Audi is claiming a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Power gets to all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and, naturally, Audi's signature Quattro all-wheel drive. A unique feature of the SQ5 is that its roof rack is directly linked to the Electronic Stability Control system to adjust driving dynamics based on whether or not a roof rack is attached.
Standard are 20-inch performance alloy wheels, with 21-inch wheels optional. Setting the SQ5 apart from other run-of-the-mill Q5 models are a Platinum Gray grille and diffuser, aluminum exterior mirror housings, and quad exhaust tips.
On the inside the SQ5 gets a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and gray instrument faces with white needles, and a leather/aluminum shift knob. Combination leather and Alcantara seating surfaces are standard, with ventilated Nappa leather seats optional.
Unfortunately for Audi's diesel fans in the U.S., this is likely the only SQ5 we will get. The 313-hp and 479-lb-ft TDI version will remain on the other side of the Atlantic, for now.
