2014 BMW X5 Pricing Released, RWD Pricing Starts at $53,725, AWD $56,025
New Model Offered in Rear Drive for First Time, $7600 Increase for xDrive35i
Price changes for new models can be all over the map, from minimal to substantial. For the most part, the price increases on the 2014 BMW X5 fall into the latter camp. On a trim-level equivalent basis, starting prices have increased as much as $7600 for the X5 xDrive35i model, going from a starting price of $48,425 for the 2013 model to $56,025. New for 2014 is the rear-drive sDrive35i model, which doesn't have an exact 2013 equivalent. The sDrive model starts at $53,725.
However, one model in the lineup gets a modest price decrease for 2014, the xDrive35d diesel, which goes from an MSRP of $57,625 for the 2013 model to $57,525 for 2014. The topline xDrive50i V-8 model goes up $4000 from $65,125 to $69,125. The destination and handling fee of $925 is unchanged from 2013, and is included in all prices.
Despite these seemingly substantial increases, BMW is quick to point out that the 2014 models have a higher level of standard equipment than their predecessors, with navigation, and 10 years of BMW Assist eCall and TeleService standard.
An M variant of the new X5 is unconfirmed, but almost certain, and will likely start at well above the current model's $89,775.
