Toyota Revises the 2014 Lineup for the New Model Year
What's New for Toyota for 2014
We recently had the opportunity to drive the 2014 Tundra and 4Runner, but we found out from Toyota about other changes to the company's truck and sport/utility lineup for 2014. While the automaker hasn't announced all the changes for the new model year, here's what we know so far:
FJ Cruiser: The cool, retro-looking off-roader returns essentially unchanged. Toyota hasn't released details on the Trail Teams Special Edition, but we expect it to be as good as they have been every year.
Land Cruiser: The classic nameplate carries on for 2014. As is the case with the FJ Cruiser, this one is the same for the new model year.
Sequoia: Aside from the addition of Entune Audio Plus in the SR5, Entune Premium Audio standard on the Limited, optional on the SR5, and Entune Premium JBL Audio -- standard on the Platinum and optional on the Limited -- the Sequoia continues on as is for 2014.
Tacoma: While there hadn't been a lot of people buying the X-Runner, we're still sad to hear that the performance-biased model is going away for 2014. There are some new options available, though. There's a new appearance package, called the SR, available on Pre-Runners and base grades, that comes with a color-matched exterior (fenders, door handles, bumpers, side mirrors, and grille surround), smoked headlights, and available foglights. The SR is only offered in Pyrite, Spruce, and Nautical Blue. Other changes: The availability of Entune was expanded, the monitor is now in the head unit instead of in the rearview mirror, and there are 16-inch black Baja wheels offered as part of the ST package. Finally, there are two new exterior colors: Silver Sky Metallic replaces Silver, and Blue Ribbon Metallic replaces Blue.
Venza: The XLE and Limited trims now get power-folding side mirrors, and the Limited receives a front and rear backup sonar system.
