2014 Mazda CX-9 Priced at $30,780, AWD GT Trim at $37,420
The 2014 Mazda CX-9 has been priced, with front- drive Sport models starting at $30,780 including $795 destination, and the range-topping all-wheel-drive Grand Touring starting at $37,420. Sport models increase $200, while Touring and Grand Touring trims each rise by $250.
The seven-passenger Mazda CX-9 crossover received a face-lift for 2013, which included Kodo-influenced front and rear ends. The 2014 Mazda CX-9 is still powered by a 3.7-liter V-6 producing 273 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. For 2014, a new 20-inch alloy wheel design is available and rear cross traffic detection has been made standard on Touring and Grand Touring models. Mazda's all-wheel-drive system is available for $1590 on all trims, the cheapest of which is the all-wheel-drive CX-9 Sport starting at $32,370.
Mazda CX-9 Sport models get 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, cloth seats, a second-row center armrest with cupholders, dual exhaust, tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, 60/40 split folding and reclining second-row seat, 50/50 split folding third-row seat, 5.8-inch information display, and six-speaker CD audio system with USB and auxiliary inputs as standard. CX-9 Touring models, which start at $33,275 with front-wheel drive and $34,865 for all-wheel drive, receive leather-trimmed seats, heated power adjustable front seats, automatic headlights, a blind spot monitoring system, and a rearview camera with backup sensors and the aforementioned rear cross traffic detection in addition to the Sport model's features. The 2014 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring -- $35,830 with front-wheel drive and $37,420 with all-wheel drive -- adds 20-inch alloy wheels, HID headlights, side mirror-integrated turn signals, driver's side seat memory, a second-row center armrest with storage compartment, and anti-theft alarm.
Navigation is available for Touring and Grand Touring models through the Technology package, which also includes a 10-speaker Bose sound system, power moonroof, and satellite radio with a four-month subscription. The package costs $3000 for Touring models and $2435 for Grand Touring CX-9s, with the Touring package adding hands-free keyless entry, fog lights, and a power liftgate -- features already standard on the Grand Touring. Though Mazda may be considering a subcompact crossover, a redesigned CX-9 is definitely on the way in the next couple model years.
