2014 Toyota Tundra Videos Play Up Practical Benefits
Sped-Up Reverse Footage Shows Making of Treehouse, Baseball Field, RC Car Track
Toyota cars and trucks have always had an appeal to family types, with their reputation for safety, practicality and reliability. Toyota is playing up that reputation in a creative way with some 30-second YouTube spots for the 2014 Toyota Tundra. Each of the scenarios starts out with an inspiration, usually from one of the family man's kids, and results in the building of an awesomely over-the-top creation, facilitated by, you guessed it, the 2014 Toyota Tundra.
The first spot starts out showing a huge backyard RC car track, with none other than NASCAR star Kyle Busch in attendance. How did such an awesome creation come to be? The video suddenly goes into fast-reverse, ending with showing the dad's son knocking over the barbecue grill with his RC car, and Dad staring into the distance with the spark of creative genius.
The next shows a backyard baseball field, complete with dugout, bleachers, and a batting cage. Once again, the fast-mo reverse video ends with the genesis of the idea, in this case, the proverbial baseball through the window.
Finally, a dad's kids climbing in a large tree in the front yard gives him inspiration to build a castlelike treehouse. In the process, we see the requisite food of genius, pizza, being consumed, and the Tundra doing its part to hoist a large load of lumber up the tree.
The Tundra may not be the top-selling full-size pickup, but we'll give Toyota credit for some creative advertising. What's your take on Toyota's new Tundra spots?
