Ad Campaign for 2014 Jeep Cherokee Kicks Off
Extensive Campaign To Include Theaters, TV, Magazines, and Social Media
After months of on-again, off-again delays to get the calibration of the new nine-speed automatic just right, Chrysler is finally pulling out all the stops on marketing for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, kicking off today with the 1-minute "Built Free" spot debuting on YouTube and selected broadcast and cable channels. A shorter, 30-second version of the spot will begin airing on November 11. The in-theater promotion will begin on November 29 in conjunction with the release of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," starring Ben Stiller.
The launch video spot evokes the spirit of freedom and experience opening with outdoor activity footage, gradually changing to a gray office setting, then going back to outdoor adventure footage featuring the Cherokee.
Naturally, digital and social media are also playing a major role in the 2014 Cherokee's launch, with a newly launched Tumblr page where Cherokee fans can post their own adventure photos, and can visit jeep.com/CherokeeTales to watch the series of short videos of "Tales of the Trailhawk," in which the Cherokee Trailhawk tackles some of the most challenging off-road trails in North America, including Moab, Utah, and the infamous Rubicon Trail in Northern California.
Consumers will be able to experience the 2014 Cherokee in person at ride and drive events across the country at auto shows.
