Ultra-Exclusive 2014 Range Rover Autobiography Black To Debut in L.A.
Just 100 Units of Ultra-Lux SUV Planned for 2014
The Land Rover Range Rover already has the reputation as being one of the most exclusive luxury SUVs on the market. But for some, even the exclusivity of the Range Rover is too common. For those customers who demand the absolute bespoke, pampered treatment, Land Rover is introducing the long-wheelbase 2014 Range Rover Autobiography Black edition at the 2013 Los Angeles auto show.
Giving the Autobiography Black its limo-like rear legroom is a wheelbase stretch of nearly 8 inches, resulting in an added 5.5 inches of rear legroom. The extended-wheelbase option will also be offered on the Supercharged model for 2014.
Front memory seats have become de rigueur in the luxury segment, so to set its steed apart from the pack, the 2014 Autobiography Black offers dual rear memory seats on the model, in addition to lumbar massage, power recline, and a powered calf rest. If that's still not enough pampering for you, the rear-seat area features electrically deployable tables covered in black leather with integrated USB charging ports and cupholders. To keep the Dom Perignon appropriately chilled, a refrigerated compartment resides in the rear seat area. Almost every vertical square inch of the Autobiography Black's interior is leather-clad, including the cargo area, the A, B, C, and D pillars, and the door inserts. The model also features configurable LED mood lighting.
The Autobiography Black will be designated by a unique grille and side vent finish, and black enamel and chrome badging. Wheels will be exclusive seven-spoke, 21-inch alloys with a high-gloss polished finish.
Just 100 Autobiography Black models are slated for the U.S. market, with the first 25 arriving painted in Valloire White pearlescent paint. Pricing information was not released, but expect it to be well into six-figure territory, approaching if not surpassing $200,000.
