Caught! 2015 Ford F-150 Prototype Interior Photos!
Production Truck Shows Strong Atlas Influence
As soon as the Ford Atlas Concept was shown, we knew right away it was a sneak preview of some of the styling and features that would be coming in the next F-150. Now that the layers are slowly peeling away, we're seeing how close the production 2015 F-150 will be concept, minus the usual shiny-bit flourishes and details.
The Atlas Concept was a fully equipped, high-line representation of the next Ford F-150, likely indicative of a Platinum-level trim. But these spyshots also show a lower-level trim, likely an XLT, revealing the standard, non-navigation head unit and column shifter. As the Atlas previewed, the interior has a deliberately industrial, angular look, with plenty of buttons and knobs, even on the up-level models equipped with the touchscreen head unit. The four-spoke steering wheel also shows a strong resemblance to the wheel on the Atlas, as does the gauge cowl.
Although heavily shrouded by foam matting, we get a glimpse of the interior materials. It doesn’t appear there are any radical changes in types or quality of materials over the current model, but as with the current F-150, there will likely be dozens of different trims and configurations, from plain to plush, so expect some stitched hides and possibly genuine wood trim on the higher-trim models. The trim ladder of XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum is likely to continue. The popular Raptor off-road model will likely soldier on for another year on the current platform, but expect a next-generation Raptor based on the new truck to follow shortly thereafter.
