2015 Jeep Jeepster Headed to Geneva

The pint-sized 2015 Jeep Jeepster is reportedly headed to the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2014. The new Fiat-based Jeep Jeepster will replace both the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot in Jeep's lineup, and serve as the storied brand's new entry-level model.
Despite early spyshots showing the Jeep Jeepster bearing more than a passing resemblance to the Fiat 500X on which it's based, Drive.com.au reports that the Jeepster will have a design linking it to the iconic Willys MB Jeep. Like the Compass and Patriot that the Jeepster is designed to replace, the compact crossover will come in both front- and all-wheel drive, and should ride on Fiat’s “Flexible Small Wide” platform. A "Trail Rated" version similar to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is almost guaranteed.
While the Jeepster will be available globally with both gas and diesel engines, the latter will likely not make it to the U.S. Power could come courtesy of either the Jeep Cherokee's 2.4-liter 184-hp I-4, or the Fiat 500L's 160-hp 1.4-liter turbo-4.
The 2015 Jeep Jeepster is expected to go into production late next year.
