Survey Says: Wyoming Has Best License Plate, Delaware the Worst
Car enthusiasts put lots of effort into making their vehicles look better with modifications, but it appears something as simple as a license plate could also help in making or breaking a car's appearance. CarInsurance.com asked licensed drivers from all over the country which state had the best standard-issued license plate, and the findings revealed that cowboys are the most popular.
Wyoming's license plate, which features a cowboy on a bucking bronco, was voted the most attractive, while Hawaii's colorful rainbow design was the second-most favorite. Utah's rock formation design allowed it to finish as the third-most popular, with Alabama's landscape and Oregon's tree and mountain graphic putting them in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. While the most attractive plates wear lots of color and unique designs, the least unattractive ones don't really feature much of anything. The top 5 most disliked design come from Virginia, Alaska, Michigan, and Arkansas, with Delaware positioned in dead-last thanks to its boring gold and blue color theme.
Aside from appearance, participants were also able to vote on their favorite license plate slogans. Alabama's "Sweet Home Alabama" was voted the best, followed by New Hampshire's "Live Free or Die" slogan. California's DMV web address was disliked, but not as much as D.C.'s "Taxation Without Representation."
