2015 Cadillac Escalade Starts at $72,690

Jan 23, 2014
The Cadillac Escalade is getting a price bump as it enters its next generation. The 2015 Cadillac Escalade will start at $72,690 including $995 destination when the new luxury SUV goes on sale this summer, a $3725 price increase compared to the previous-generation Escalade.
Buyers of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade seem to get a lot for the money. The base rear-drive 2015 Escalade comes with a new 6.2-liter V-8 making 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic. Pricing has yet to be announced for the optional all-wheel drive, but figure it'll run about $2500. Ditto that for the extended-length 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV. Pricey at $72,690, the 2015 Escalade at least comes well-equipped -- features like magnetic ride control, LED headlights and taillights, 20-inch wheels, CUE, and a digital instrument panel are all standard.
Though few would call the old Escalade cheap (unless they were talking about its interior, that is), the 2015 Cadillac Escalade's $72,690 starting price puts it on the upper end of the pricing spectrum for its segment, which reveals a lot as to how Cadillac sees the new Escalade.
In its segment, only the Lexus LX sports a higher base price tag, at $83,540. The next-closest competitor is the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, which starts at $63,925 -- almost $9000 less than the Cadillac. The Escalade's other competitors, like the Land Rover Range Rover Sport and Infiniti QX80 start in the $63,000 range, while the Lincoln Navigator starts at $57,160.
More pricing information will be available closer to the 2015 Escalade's summer launch.
