Land Rover Debuts Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic at Geneva
When Range Rover unveiled its exclusive Autobiography editions for 2013, it represented the new pinnacle of personalization and exclusivity for the already-exclusive brand. At first offered only on the flagship Range Rover and long-wheelbase models, the trim then migrated down to the Range Rover Sport model for 2014. Now, the smallest member of the clan gets its own bespoke treatment in the form of the 2015 Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic.
Making its worldwide debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Evoque Autobiography Dynamic brings both trim and performance upgrades to Land Rover's fashion-forward compact crossover. Like the rest of the 2014 Evoque line, the Autobiography Dynamic gets a nine-speed ZF automatic. The Evoque's 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine gets a power bump from 240 to 281 hp, and torque gets a boost from 250 to 295 lb-ft.
The active driveline on-demand all-wheel-drive system optional on other Evoque models is standard on the Autobiography Dynamic and is part of an upgraded suspension and handling package that includes sport-tuned steering, firmer springs, and recalibrated active dampers. The front discs are also upgraded to beefy 13.8-inch binders, complemented by Torque Vectoring by Braking, designed to improve handling and reduce understeer.
The outside of the Autobiography Dynamic is distinguished by 20-inch forged alloy wheels, Autobiography "ingot" tailgate badging, a unique grille design and new lower front valence. Distinguishing the Dynamic-series Evoques is an available Phoenix Orange paint color.
The Autobiography Dynamic also marks the debut of Land Rover's new InControl Apps system, which mirrors smartphone apps on the center display. The system does require a physical USB connection, however. Other interior upgrades include Autobiography embossing on the headrests, illuminated door sill plates, and six available color palettes and four seating area colors.
