The Handoff: 2017 Pickup Truck of the Year Award Presented to Nissan Titan - #PTOTY17
Nissan Takes Our Billet Piston for the First Time
The 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit is one of the industry’s most popular events, so we felt it was the perfect venue to knock out some heavy metal. On Monday afternoon, Truck Trend and the fellas at Nissan got together to celebrate the 2017 Pickup Truck of the Year, the Titan.
The new-for-2017 Nissan Titan 1/2-ton joined its bigger brother, the Titan XD, at dealerships late last year. Its consistent podium finishes in almost all of our test categories made it the most well-rounded pickup in our group, and its impressive value quotient compared to other trucks in its class was attractive as well.
Fred Diaz, the vice president and general manager of Nissan North America’s Light Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles division, was on hand to receive the award, along with Rich Miller, Titan lead engineer, and Brent Hagan, Nissan product manager. Phil O’Connor, director of Chief Marketing Media, was also there to receive the Billet Piston.
Together with Truck Trend Network Content Director Sean P. Holman, Truck Trend editor Jason Gonderman presented Nissan with Billet Piston in front of the award winner itself. From all of us at Truck Trend, congratulations and well done to the entire Nissan team!
