Copper Sport Limited Edition Joins 2017 Ram 1500 Lineup
Only 3,000 Units Will Be Offered for Year
It’s been said “If you only do one thing, do it well.” Since Ram became Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ bespoke truck brand in 2009, it has been laser-focused on development and continuing improvement of its bread-and-butter pickup line. The special-edition variants and trims of the 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickups have been coming in rapid-fire succession one after another, and Ram sure wasn’t about to let the 2017 Chicago Auto Show go by without another special trim to add to its quiver. To that end, the Ram 1500 gets a new limited-edition variant of the Sport trim: the Ram 1500 Copper Sport. If you’re hoping to get one of these trucks, you’d better put a call in to your dealer now as only 3,000 of the trucks are slated to roll off the line for the 2017 model year.
Other than the rare paint job, the Copper Sport gets a body-color grille, black-decal Sport performance hood, black Ram’s head grille badge, and black tailgate and body-side badging. Two-wheel-drive models get 22-inch polished alloy wheels, and four-wheel-drive models get 20-inch polished alloys.
On the inside, the Copper Sport gets a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system with subwoofer, copper-colored accent stitching throughout the cabin, Ram’s head embroidery, sport mesh seat inserts, copper-color interior accents, and a black headliner. All Copper Sport models will be equipped with the 5.7L Hemi V-8 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. Pricing starts at $46,950, including $1,320 destination.
