Nissan Showcases Accessories for New Titan, XD at Chicago
Trucks Show Current, Prototype Accessories
Truck makers know that one of the purchase factors for many buyers is the ability to accessorize and customize their trucks. While some brands and models have decades of uninterrupted history and persistent popularity that have blessed them with ample aftermarket support, others have to start from scratch. Although the Titan name has been around since 2004, the 2017 model is an all-new truck, and the company is working hard to reestablish itself as a major player in the fullsize market. To showcase the adaptability of the new Titan as a customization platform, the company is showing a 1/2-ton Titan and Titan XD with both currently available and prototype accessories being considered for future offering.
Both are PRO-4X crew cabs. The Titan is powered by the 5.6L Endurance gas V-8, while the Titan XD is powered by the Cummins 5.0L turbodiesel V-8. The Titan features a prototype Nissan Motorsports lift kit, a NISMO cat-back exhaust, 20-inch accessory wheels, Nissan accessory step rails, LED fog lights, bed box, tailgate guard, and rear bumper step. The Titan XD features an ICON Vehicle Dynamics suspension, Rigid Industries front grille with camera mount and light bars, an N-Fab front bumper and rock rails, EGR fender flares and sport bar, and Method wheels. Other Nissan accessories showcased on the XD are a sliding bed extender, sliding bed divider, and Platinum-edition polished exhaust tip.
