Ram Adds Chassis Cab Trucks to Virtual Configurator, Launches Q Pro Upfitter Qualification
Tools Allow Buyers to Virtually Configure, Upfitters to Validate Products
Ram Trucks appropriately selected the 2017 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis to showcase two new programs aimed and commercial customers and upfitters. Ram is one of the leading manufacturers serving the Class 1 through 5 commercial vehicle market. The first is Ram’s Augmented Reality Upfit Configurator. Launched initially for the fullsize ProMaster van, the program has expanded to include the ProMaster City compact cargo van, as well as the Ram Chassis Cab line, including the 3500, 4500, and 5500 models. The configurator allows upfitters and dealers to virtually show customers how they can upfit their vehicles for their business’ specific needs, including interior configurations.
The second announcement is the Q Pro program, a new qualification process for upfitters to certify their products to Ram Engineering. Through Q Pro, upfitters can submit their product to Ram to have it officially recognized and validated and receive feedback from Ram engineers for product improvement and certification. Once approved, Q Pro will help qualified upfitters market their products to potential customers.
The Ram HD Chassis Cab models help facilitate upfitters by offering industry standard cab-axle lengths and frame widths, flat frame rails, a vehicle system interface module, and left or right-side power takeoff (PTO) capability.
