F250R Raptorizes the Super Duty
Packages Available for 2005-2016 Super Duty Trucks
The Ford F-150 Raptor and the Super Duty both have their loyal fans, for different reasons. The Raptor has a legendary reputation for off-road capability in the desert and on the rocks. However, it’s definitely more of a play toy than a workhorse. The Super Duty, on the other hand, is built as a beast of burden but is not as well-suited to high-speed desert romps or rocky trails. Jeremy Dixon, of Tucson, Arizona, decided he was not satisfied with this all-or-nothing forced choice. He wanted the capability and torque offered by the Super Duty’s Power Stroke diesel engine with the Raptor’s off-road capability. To combine the best of both worlds, Dixon created the F250R: a hybrid, if you will, of the Super Duty and the Raptor.
Dixon does not sell the individual components of the conversion à la carte. It’s all or nothing, at least as far as the conversion goes. The $22,000 SuperRaptor rolls on 40-inch tires and includes an Icon suspension, BIlstein shocks, an all-new fiberglass front-hinged clamshell hood, the buyer’s choice of headlights, full paint, and 17-inch raceline wheels. For the ultimate in the F250R experience, the MegaRaptor gets 46-inch Michelin XLZ tires and military-spec MRAP alloy wheels with protective rock rings. The conversion is currently available for 2005-2016 Super Duty trucks and can be done on gas or diesel models -- you just provide the truck.
