Spied! 2019 Ram 1500 Interior Exposed
Features Appear to Be In Direct Competition With Ford F-150
Our sharpshooters have been busy watching the 2019 Ram 1500 and caught some shots of the interior, virtually free of camouflage.
We know that the new Ram will be outfitted with FCA’s newest goodies, since they have both the redesigned Ford F-150 and the latest GM trucks as fierce competition. We spied the 1500 with most of the cab uncovered, revealing the styling of the new infotainment system. Hopefully what we see here is the new UConnect 4.0 system, which appears to have a taller screen than what we’ve seen in other FCA vehicles. The screen itself is reaching toward Tesla-sized proportions, but with manual controls along the sides and bottom.
Plenty of wood trim and stitched leather is visible, peeking from beneath the shielding layer of canvas, with Ram badging placed boldly above the instrument cluster. Also, prepare to continue mistakenly adjusting the music volume when you meant to shift into reverse because the 1500 will come standard with a rotary shifter.
The Ram’s key fob has controls for lowering the tailgate as well as remotely adjusting the vehicle’s access height via the available air suspension, without having to start the truck. Other surprises for 2019 include a trailer brake, parking assist, and lane-keep assist for those of us who like to play pinball between the dotted highway lines.
Keep your eyes open for the new Ram at the Detroit Auto Show in January!
