GMC Teases 2019 Sierra 1500 on Instagram Before Truck’s Debut Tomorrow
All-New Pickup Follows Platform-Mate Silverado to the Stage
GMC is teasing the all-new 2019 Sierra 1500 before its official debut tomorrow in Detroit. Using Instagram, the company published three images of the truck, betraying precious few details about the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500’s close relative.
The first image shows the Sierra 1500’s front light signature, modernized and updated somewhat for the 2019 model. C-shaped LED running lights and slightly notched headlights look a bit similar to the Ford F-150’s, but luckily, the GMC’s units are more angular. The lighting up front reminds us a bit of the compact Terrain Denali SUV, and that’s not a bad thing. Although it’s not obvious from the teaser images, expect a version of the Denali brand’s 3D mesh grille on top-trim Sierra 1500s.
The rear shows even less about the truck. The 2019 Sierra 1500 gets LED-accented taillights, their C shape aping the front end. The tailgate gets a bold GMC logo larger than the one on the current truck. Aaaaaaaand that’s about all we know about the rear end so far.
The side profile is only slightly less obscured, but it does show the headlights are swept back aerodynamically, and the taillights are a bit more angular. There’s a satellite radio antenna on the roof, and we expect the sharkfin to replace the regular AM/FM radio aerial for aerodynamic reasons.
Fortunately, GMC says we won’t have to wait long to see the 2019 Sierra 1500, as the truck will be revealed on GMC’s Facebook Live tomorrow.
