New Land Rover Defenders From Fusion Motor Company
Fusion Motor Company Introduces Line of Land Rover Defenders
Fusion Motor Company, known for their Gone In 60 Seconds “Eleanor” Mustang Fastback, has released a new line of custom Land Rover Defenders. Fusion’s first Defender 110 features an LS3 Corvette powertrain package. At their 75,000-square-foot facility in Los Angeles, Fusion has integrated ISO-level international manufacturing processes and OE-caliber in-house engineering, which is what makes their vehicles so pristine. All their fabrication is done in house as well; these Defenders integrate the well-known legendary Defender looks with modern features and amenities.
The color of choice for this particular Defender is Santorini Black. With the body of a classic Land Rover and a Corvette Stingray powerplant, the Fusion Defender is a beast in a proper British gentleman’s clothing. The LS3 motor is a 6.2L V-8 making 430 hp, 122 hp over the stock original 3.9L Defender engine. Shifting gears in the Defender is handled by a GM 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission. Fusion retained the factory all-wheel-drive system of the Defender because there’s no reason to replace something that works perfectly, and they adapted the GM transmission to the factory LT230 full-time transfer case.
To keep the distinct Land Rover Defender look consistent, Fusion chose to use factory Land Rover 18-inch Sawtooth Gloss Black alloy wheels. Fusion wrapped the wheels in LT285/65/R18 Nitto Ridge Grappler all terrains. Fox 2.3 monotone shocks mounted in tubular front shock turrets keep the Fusion Defender rolling smoothly.
British Land Rover restyling specialists inspired some very cool exterior enhancements. The mesh two-tone satin/gloss black front grille, surround panels for the Vision X 7-inch xenon LED projector headlights, sport side fenders, grille vents and heavy-duty bumpers, plus a sunroof and all-around tint give the Fusion Defender a unique and sophisticated look. Inside the sophistication is evident: the headliner is black suede, ebony and tan leather line the seven-seat cabin, a Pioneer infotainment system with Apple CarPlay powers the 1000-watt sound system. If an LS3-powered luxury SUV with the capability and legendary reliability of a Defender fits your bill, Fusion is taking reservations.
