Limited Edition May Be Most Exclusive Rover Ever
Land Rover introduced the SV Coupe, purportedly the world’s first fullsize luxury SUV coupe, at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show this week. Yes, a two-door SUV. If you happen to ever see one on the road, you should take a picture, as Land Rover Design and Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) plan to handcraft no more than 999 of these limited-edition specimens worldwide; production will take place at the SVO Technical Center in Warwickshire, UK.

Beautifully realized and superbly engineered, the Range Rover SV Coupe delivers the most distinguished, luxurious, and exclusive Range Rover ever built.”
The appearance is definitely commanding and contemporary, while retaining the characteristic floating roof, continuous waistline, and tapering tail. All of the aluminum exterior panels are new, with the exception of the hood and lower tailgate. Even the front and rear bumpers are new. A variety of body color combinations allow for the utmost of personalization. For the first time, 23-inch forged wheels will be an option, because…why not5? A new exterior liquid metal paint finish named Liquesence joins the available finishes.
The interior, as one might suspect, displays the same quality craftsmanship that we’ve come to expect from Range Rover. An array of contrast or single-tone interior colors and choice of elegant wood veneers, including the Nautica veneer, give a plethora of choices to customers. A gradated diamond quilt design in the semi-aniline leather seats is unique to the SV Coupe.
Accompanying the performance is the suspension’s ride height, which is 0.31 inch lower than the standard Range Rover. Air suspension is standard, and several height settings are activated automatically or manually. For those wishing to take the road less traveled, the permanent all-wheel-drive SV Coupe offers almost 3 feet of maximum wading depth and drive modes to optimize traction on all types of surfaces. Those looking to hook up a trailer can expect a maximum towing capacity of 7,716 pounds, when properly equipped.
