BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 Tires for Just $58—For Your RC Truck
Tire Company Reworks Popular Tire in Micro Size
BFGoodrich will now offer its aggressive Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 in a 4.75-inch fitment, and that’s not a typo. The tire giant partnered with Pro-Line Racing, famous for its line of radio-control parts and accessories, to reimagine the KM3 for RC trucks and buggies.
The BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 was released June 1, and the manufacturer gave Pro-Line Racing early access to the tire specs in order to develop the mini version. Tread blocks on the RC tire are identical to those of the real thing, a trait that BFGoodrich says gives small-scale off-roaders the same bite and traction as their full-size counterparts.
The RC tire is made from Pro-Line Racing’s proprietary G8 rock-crawling compound, balancing traction and treadwear. Furthermore, the tire’s lugs are self-cleaning, improving traction in mud and mixed terrain. They’re sized to fit 1.9-inch wheels and are 4.75 inches tall by 1.77 inches wide.
According to Pro-Line Racing’s website, the Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 has a suggested price of $28.86 a pair, bringing a full set to $57.72. Given the tires are sized to fit 1:10-scale trucks, that seems like a pretty hilarious bargain—at that rate, a full set of 48-inch “real” tires would cost less than $600. So if you want to build a mini-me for your Jeep or Toyota, BFGoodrich and Pro-Line Racing are ready.
