Dodge Updates Durango Slightly for 2019
Trim and Equipment Changes Comprise Highlights
The Dodge Durango will see a few alterations for 2019, limited primarily to some added optional features and updated trim levels.
For 2019, the base Durango SXT will offer available leather seating, an option previously limited to higher trim levels. The SXT will come standard with five-passenger seating, but expect a third row as an option.
The most obvious change will belong to the Durango GT, which retains the 3.6L V-6 from the Durango SXT, but adds sportier styling. The GT, which currently bears Dodge’s signature crosshairs grille, will receive the performance front fascia found on the Durango R/T and SRT for 2019. This front end also gets LED foglights, and a heat-extracting vented hood is also available.
One level up from the GT is the leather-lined, chrome-clad Citadel, which receives standard second-row captain's chairs, for a seating capacity of six—a seven-passenger option with a second-row bench is no longer available. The luxurious trim level will continue to offer a 5.7L Hemi V-8 in lieu of the standard V-6.
All 2019 Durangos equipped with the Trailer Tow Package now come with a standard integrated trailer brake controller, improving control when towing up to the SUV’s maximum of 6,200 pounds with the 3.6L V-6 or 7,400 pounds with the 5.7L V-8.
The 2019 Durango hits showrooms this fall.
