Jaguar Updates F-Pace SUV Slightly for 2019

SVR Model, Standard Active Safety Features, and Added Option Packages Join Lineup

Aug 1, 2018
Jaguar will update the popular F-Pace slightly for 2019 by adding a few features to the graceful SUV’s roster. Furthermore, the already announced 550hp SVR model is expected to arrive in time for the 2019 model year.

The F-Pace remains largely the same appearance-wise, but Jaguar is adding a few key standard safety features, including automated emergency braking, Lane Keep Assist, and front and rear parking aids, as well as a rearview camera. Furthermore, optional Adaptive Cruise Control is now available with Steering Assist, a fatigue-reducing feature that helps keep the Jaguar centered in its lane.
The 2019 F-Pace now comes standard with the company’s 10-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, mercifully avoiding the confusing Touch Pro Duo system of its Range Rover Velar platform-mate. Further enhancing the interior will be optional “slimline sport seats,” illuminated doorsill trim, and Jaguar’s luxurious suedecloth headliner.

For the most part, the 2019 F-Pace remains mechanically identical to its 2018 counterpart. The entry-level 25t has a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 producing 247 hp, available in base, Premium, Prestige, and R-Sport trim levels starting at $44,600 plus $995 for destination. Also available is the 180hp 2.0L turbodiesel I-4–powered 20d, which starts at $48,500 and is available in Premium, Prestige, and R-Sport forms. Next up is the 30t with a 296hp 2.0L turbo four, which ditches the low-power engine’s base trim level but adds a Portfolio model at the top of the range. This engine starts at $50,000 plus destination. At the top of the “conventional” range is the F-Pace S, which gets a 3.0L supercharged V-6 good for 380 hp. This engine is available in one trim level, starting at $61,500. Each of these starting prices represents a slight increase compared to 2018, around $2,000 depending on the model.

The F-Pace does get an all-new version for 2019, the SVR. Powered by a 5.0L supercharged V-8 borrowed from the Range Rover Sport SVR, the F-Pace SVR also receives active suspension and drivetrain technology, a sophisticated eight-speed automatic gearbox, extensive aerodynamic enhancements, aggressively bolstered seating, and more.
This model will start at $79,990, which strikes us as something of a performance bargain—spending the extra $2,545 over a Porsche Macan Turbo nets you 150 more ponies than the beetle-shaped German, and the much more expensive BMW X5 M only has 17 extra hp compared to the F-Pace.
