Nissan Upgrades Technology in 2019 Titan Models
Nissan unveiled several new upgrades to the 2019 Nissan Titan and Titan XD models at the State Fair of Texas. Announcements included a new premium audio system, new touchscreen, and safety technology.
The upgraded 7-inch touchscreen audio and IT display now comes standard on the truck. The display is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Nissan’s exclusive NissanConnect systems. Additional USB media and charge ports were added for the front and backseat passengers. A new Fender Premium Audio System features a 485-watt, 9-channel amplifier with Panasonic’s proprietary Acoustic Motion Control.
The Rear Door Alert system now comes standard on all King Cab and Crew Cab Titan and Titan XD models. The system uses the vehicle's door sensors, horn, and message display to help remind drivers to check the backseat after the vehicle is parked.
Nissan also announced two new colors. The trucks will be available in Moab Sunset and Midnight Pine. A special Midnight Edition Package is also available, which provides a custom look straight from the factory. The Midnight Edition Package includes body-color front grille with dark insert, dark headlamps, black foglamp finisher, black exterior badging, black mirrors, black door handles, 20-inch black wheels, body-color front and rear bumpers, black step rains, black interior trim, and "Midnight Edition" exterior badge.
The 2019 Titan is available in a full range of rugged 1/2-ton models, including Single Cab, King Cab, and Crew Cab body configurations in 4x2 and 4x4 drive. A 390hp 5.6L V-8 gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission powers the trucks. The XD lineup includes Crew Cab, King Cab, and Single Cab body styles with two bed lengths and a choice of a Cummins 5.0L V-8 Turbodiesel or Nissan 5.6L V-8 engine. New for 2019, the Titan XD Diesel adds a larger-capacity DEF tank and a new integrated gooseneck hitch with a plug inside the bed for greater ease of towing.
