Toyota Adds Unique New Appearance Packages For 4Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra
Custom Is King
Toyota made news at the 2018 State Fair of Texas by unveiling three new special editions for 2019: 4Runner Nightshade, Tacoma SX, and Tundra SX. All three of these new packages build on buyer’s love of “blacked out” styling and their fondness for affordable special edition vehicles.
4Runner NightshadeThe 2019 Toyota 4Runner Nightshade Special Edition builds on the vehicle’s already lavish Limited trim. Nightshade adds black front and rear bumper spoilers, outer mirrors, door handles, window moldings, rocker panels, roof rails, and badging. Black chrome cladding is fitted to the grille, while around back the exhaust tips receive the same treatment. Black 20-inch wheels round out the exterior package. Turning inside 4Runner Nightshade receives black steering wheel trim, center cluster and console panels, shift knob and shifter panel, along with the inner door grips. Priced at just $1,740 (added to base MSRP) the Nightshade Special Edition can be had on Limited 2x4 and 4x4 and with Midnight Black Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and Blizzard Pearl exterior colors.
Tacoma SXFor 2019 Tacoma is offered in 32 different variations, so why not add another one to the mix? The Tacoma SX brings a blacked-out theme to the already vibrant mix. Based on the SR-grade, the SX package can be added to Access Cab models in either 2x4 and 4x4. Strategic high-visibility parts are blacked out to create the unique look, which includes badging, over fenders, mirror caps, grille, door handles, and headlamps. Finishing off the look are 16-inch matte black alloy wheels. The SX package carries a price tag of just $560, a steal for all that is included.
Tundra SXThose people looking for a clean and unique Tundra will appreciate the new Tundra SX package. Available on SR5 grade Double Cab models with the 5.7L i-Force V-8, SX starts the customizing by removing all exterior badging. Color matched grille surrounds, front bumper end caps, and rear bumper give the truck a uniform appearance. Wheels are upgraded to 18-inch black alloys, and the front bucket seats are improved for additional occupant comfort. The SX package adds $1,630 to Tundra’s MSRP, and is available in Super White, Midnight Black Metallic, and Barcelona Red Metallic.
