#MTSEMA18 - Ford to Debut Seven Custom F-Series Builds at SEMA 2018
Four F-150s and Three Super Dutys Slated for Ford’s Central Hall Booth
Ford, always prominent in the Central Hall with its massive blue curtain backdrop, plans to display more than 50 vehicles at the 2018 SEMA Show, making it the largest original equipment manufacturer at the annual automotive event. While the return of the Ranger means we’ll be seeing a plethora of these customized midsize trucks in the exhibit, you better believe Ford is not about to neglect its F-Series, America’s best-selling truck. Check out just a few details on the F-150s and Super Dutys that will be featured in the Ford booth.
This 2018 Ford F-150 Lariat Sport 4x2 SuperCab, customized by ZB Customs and Kurt Busch, packs a 5.0L V-8 with On3Performance twin turbochargers, Ford Performance forged rotating assembly, JE forged EN coated pistons, and all the bells and whistles to achieve 1,000 hp. A JRi Shocks hydraulic ride height system, ZB Customs 4.5-inch-wide body fenders, 22-inch ForgeLine Motorsports monoblock wheels, and Axalta Electron Blue paint (with custom pearl ghost graphics) contribute to the exterior’s menacing appeal. On the inside, ZB Customs adorned the seats, steering wheel, and armrests in alligator leather.
SpeedKore Performance Group teamed with country music star Brantley Gilbert on this custom gray Pro-Touring Edition 2018 Ford F-150 XLT 4x2 Regular Cab. Under the 5.0L’s hood resides a Ford Performance supercharger, while stopping power for all the extra pop comes courtesy of Brembo BM-8 two-piece eight-piston big brakes. The 1/2-ton rests slightly lower thanks to MaxTrac lowering spindles and Crown lowering springs over 22-inch HRE TR106 monoblock custom satin bronze wheels. The exterior was treated with SpeedKore’s characteristic carbon-fiber touch, while the interior was draped in espresso brown leather with bronze French stitching courtesy of Gabe’s Custom Interiors.
It’s unlikely you’ll miss this orange and blue Avery Dennison–wrapped 2018 Ford F-150 XLT Sport 4x4 SuperCab built by Full-Race Motorsports. The “Freak-O-Beast” is powered by Ford’s 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 and enhanced by Full-Race’s CARB-approved twin-turbo upgrade and related parts. Suspension upgrades came via Icon Vehicle Dynamics’ 3-inch front coilover and 3-inch rear bypass kit. Fiberwerx fenders and bedsides, Rigid Industries LED lighting, a Ford Performance by Warn Industries recovery kit, 17-inch Icon Vehicle Dynamics wheels on Maxxis RAZR MT tires, and Rogue Racing front and rear Enforcer bumpers contribute to the off-road prowess.
Transfer Flow’s 2018 Ford F-150 Lariat Sport 4x4 Super Crew is the ultimate family adventure machine. Under the hood resides Ford’s new 3.0L Power Stroke diesel V-6, and you better believe Transfer Flow augmented the efficient diesel’s range with the addition of a 50-gallon replacement fuel tank and 40-gallon in-bed auxiliary toolbox combo. There’s something about a movie projector screen inset as well, which is traditionally a hit with kids. The suspension is Pro Comp’s 6-inch Stage 2 coilover kit, and Hellwig Products help keep the Yakima kayak rack–equipped rig stable. Fab Fours Vengeance bumpers protect the front and rear, and 20-inch Pro Comp 61 Series Congo wheels on 35-inch Pro Comp tires conquer off-road terrain with ease.
This 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty Lariat 4x2 dually Crew Cab 6.7L Power Stroke diesel is a collaboration between Extang Truck Bed Covers and students from Washtenaw Community College’s Custom Cars and Concepts program. It sits low over 24-inch Fuel Mavericks thanks to custom suspension work by ARFT’s Speed Shop and an Air Lift Performance 3P air management system. As cool as a shaved dually laying low is, the real party starts with the Ford Accessories hard folding bed cover by Extang, which is integrated with a 65-inch LG OLED 4K television. But wait, there’s more—a copper-plated swing-out cooler and grille behind the tailgate and a custom cargo slide that houses an expanding game table add to convenient tailgating. Inspired by college students? We think so.
Wilderness Collective designed its vision of the ultimate Super Duty adventurer with this 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT FX4 Crew Cab 6.7L Power Stroke diesel beast. The most noticeable additions to the Vaderworks-wrapped behemoth are the Frontrunner products (cab rack, bed rack, rooftop tent, and cargo system), 37-inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires, and Warn Industries front and rear bumpers. There’s no doubt that this thing is ready for the wilderness.
DeBerti Design’s Transformer Work Truck revolutionizes the boss’s truck. The 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat 4x4 Crew Cab combines power and custom functionality into a finished product that is stunning. The 6.7L Power Stroke V-8 diesel receives treatment in the power department thanks to Midwest Diesel & Auto’s twin-turbo kit with a 76mm precision turbo and Fleece Performance Engineering’s 63mm high-pressure turbo, additional parts from No Limit Fabrication, and tuning from Proformance Diesel for a respectable 900 hp. DeBerti Designs decked out the bed’s functionality with a custom hinged utility bed, lightbar and rack, and a pullout bumper utility box.
