During day 2 of the 2019 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, we battled our way through the endless sea of people to find the best engine builds. This annual show has some of the most clever, ingenious, and outrages engine builds in the world, many of which are mounted in some of the most creative trucks.


Photo 2/12   |   Though it is not technically in a truck yet, this twin turbocharged V-8 is going to be a beast under the hood.

Photo 4/12   |   With an eight throttle body injection system, this LS V-8 get a healthy ration of fuel. It resides beautifully in the engine bay of gorgeous '40s Chevrolet stepside.
Photo 5/12   |   Can't go wrong with a Cummins under the hood of an early Dodge square body.
Photo 6/12   |   The Dynomite Diesel Products-built Cummins engine that hides beneath its turbochargers and piping makes 1,463 hp and 2,011 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. This power house was used to propel Old Smokey, a 1949 Ford F1 built by Chuckles Garage, to the top of Pikes Peak during the annual hillclimb.
