Truckin Oddities of SEMA 2019
Truck Brands and Models You Don’t See Every Day
Are you ever perusing through Truckin's insane SEMA coverage and wonder to yourself, "where are all the off-brand trucks? The Internationals, the Old Dodges, maybe even VWs or vans?" Well, this is the story and photo gallery for you!
Going off the beaten path, taking the road less travelled, Straying from the norm. They're all ways to describe someone that decides to look past the late model Ford and GM Trucks and C10s and build something truly unique. We know from experience that it's not easy. Often times, a replacement part is not a phone call away. In fact, that part may very well not exist any more.
But choosing an off-brand or model truck can be as rewarding as it is challenging. Similar to how a nicely patina'd truck is going to get more second glances than a fresh paintjob, your unique build will get more passersby stopping and checking your truck out than the regular stuff anyday!
Probably the most popular truck in our gallery is the slammed orange International Scout that recently appeared on Fast & Loud- its one of our favorites, too. Another is the '36 Chevy Sedan turned crew cab dually that you've seen on these very pages. How 'bout an off road ready Porsche? Or a slammed Toyota FJ? Or even a Volvo SUV-turned into an off-road assault vehicle.
While we love the plethora of late model trucks and C10s we come across every year, we think that these vehicles are what gives SEMA its spirit. Long live the oddballs!
