1937 International Trophy Rat in Action Sneak Peek - Video

This isn’t your average rat rod

When we think of a rat rod, we picture a vintage car or pickup put together with parts that were lying around the house but look awesome cruising down the street. Keith Northrup of Kirkland, Washington—yup, the same town that has flags for crossing the street—went above and beyond with his rat rod build. The Trophy Rat, as it’s aptly named, features a full trophy truck–style chassis with the awesome looking sheetmetal from a 1937 International Pickup.

The Trophy Rat was built for go, not show, and packs plenty of performance in its chassis. With long-travel suspension and custom-valved King coilovers, this international rides lower and has more suspension travel then we’ve ever seen from a rat rod. With an LS6 engine, this truck has the power to spin the 35-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers with ease.
The Trophy Rat is worthy of the road and the whoops thanks to excellent engineering and design. We’ve only seen pictures of this kickass rig until now, a short teaser of the Trophy Rat in action was just released and it doesn’t disappoint. Check out the international showing of its tremendous good looks and fantastic power.
