Buy It Now! 1994 Ford E-350 From a Past President’s Motorcade Is For Sale

Is This Ex-Presidential Communications Rig the Earthroamer of Your Future

Mar 18, 2020
Are you feeling "Presidential?" Do you want to start overlanding and you're in the market for a fullsize, four-wheel-drive van? Need a mobile Command Center for any particular reason? If you answered "yes" to one or maybe all of those questions, do we have a deal for you!
Perusing Craigslist classifieds is a pastime for most truck guys, especially now, as a large number of enthusiasts are hunkered down inside, per "stay-at-home" directives brought forth by the world's COVID-19 virus situation. And we thank that exile for bringing us this unique and rare 1994 Ford E-350, which we discovered in the Autos section of Craigslist Denver, Colorado.

Code named "Roadrunner," the van, created by Wolf Coach of Auburn, Massachusetts (at a cost of more than $100,000), is a former U.S. Secret Service Communications rig (decommissioned, but everything still works) that was used in President Bill Clinton's motorcade. The seller apparently is the only non-government owner since Roadrunner's presidential service.
The rust-free, low-miles, heavy-duty van (20,181) is powered by a 460 cubic-inch gas engine with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, and features a slew of creature-comfort accessories (swivel captain's chairs, carpeted interior panels, air conditioning, a ventilated compartment that can support an onboard toilet), good tires, and power locks and windows, as well as cool electronic equipment like a 7,000kw Onan generator, industrial plugs that can supply power inside and outside the rig, multiple inverters, and some of the lights, sirens and a satellite hookup are all still there.

At $31,000, we think this unique piece is perfect for transforming into an ultimate earthroamer, sportsmobile, or overlanding machine. Check out the photos, look it up on Craigslist, figure out a way to buy it, and go exploring in a piece of U.S. presidential history.
