2020 Dodge Durango SRT Appearance Packages: Because Stripes Make You Faster, Probably
Durango SRT Black and Redline Stripe Join the Lineup
We'll take any excuse to talk about the Dodge Durango SRT three-row SUV wits its covetable 6.4L Hemi V-8 (475hp, 470 lb-ft of torque), even if today's reason is just a couple of appearance packages. Dodge displayed both new bundles—the Durango SRT Black and the Redline stripes—on a 2020 Dodge Durango SRT at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. Of course stripes don't add any power, but they may make you feel faster, which counts for something, right?
The appearance packages, which will be available for dealer orders in March 2020, simply add some aggressive flair straight from the factory. The Durango SRT Black appearance package ($1,495) adds Midnight Grey Metallic and gloss black badges, gloss black mirror caps, Eclipse Black Tint exhaust tips, and 20x10 Matte Vapor wheels.
While we were hoping the SRT Black package would also sneakily include something about a Midnight Grey Metallic and Gloss Black Hellcat badge, it didn't. We'll have to wait and see if, as we expect per the teaser linked just then, the 700+hp 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine found in the Durango's cousin, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, makes its way into Dodge's performance SUV.
The Redline stripe appearance package ($1,295) is a full-length Satin Black center stripe edged by Redline Red. It's just a stripe, but it's safe to say that there's a good chance most of us have added a stripe or two to our vehicles over the years.
While there are other appearance options for the Durango and SRT—there are five other stripe color options the SRT shares with the GT and R/T, for example—the Black and Redline stuff are exclusive to the SRT. Ten exterior color options can be combined with the SRT's Black and Redline goodies, including Billet Silver, DB Black, Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Granite Crystal, Octane Red, Reactor Blue, Redline, White Knuckle, and Vice White.
