Land Rover announced that the first deliveries to U.S. dealers of the all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender were set to begin on June 1. Initial deliveries will consist of Defender 110 models, with limited customer deliveries to follow. Land Rover says that every one of its U.S. dealers will receive an allotment of Defenders during this first round of deliveries. This will ensure that, where feasible, people can come and see the all-new Defender in person.
"After too long of an absence, the Land Rover Defender is once again here in the U.S.," said Jaguar Land Rover North America President and CEO Joe Eberhardt. "In the coming months we will ramp up availability as global circumstances allow. We want to thank all those customers, enthusiasts, retailers, employees, and logistics partners for their enthusiasm and commitment to making this a reality. The automotive landscape is certainly brighter with the new Defender in our showrooms, driveways, and roads."
Also available now is Land Rover's online Defender configurator, at www.landroverusa.com. Starting at just $49,900, customers can outfit their Defender 110 in a multitude of ways based on their use needs and lifestyle. There are three trims of 2020 Defender to choose from: Defender, Defender First Edition, and Defender X. Available for these trims are four different accessory packs, consisting of Explorer, Adventure, Country, and Urban. And the list of available options also includes 170 different individual accessories.
Playing with the online configurator, adding all of the options to a Defender X, including the Explorer Pack, 22-inch wheels, premium paint, all of the exterior protection and dress-up options, and all of the optional technology, brings the price up to a staggering $103,500. So, while the 2020 Defender 110 starts below $50,000, it can be easily optioned to double that amount.
Land Rover also gave no time frame for the introduction of the two-door Defender 90 to the U.S. market. However, it is available to configure online now, so dream away!
