2021 Chevrolet Silverado Yenko/SC: An 800-HP Truck That Preempts a Hellcat Ram 1500
Move over, Hennessey Goliath. There's a New Hot Rod Chevy in Town.
If you want more muscle for your General Motors full-size truck than the 700-hp Hennessey Goliath provides or as much as the 800-hp Goliath, there's now another tuner option on the market: The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Yenko/SC Limited Edition, with 800 horsepower on tap. It's Like a Rock, if a rock had 800 horsepower and were shot out of a cannon. It also gives those waiting eagerly for Ram's 700-hp-plus, Hellcat-powered 1500 TRX.
The modified Silverado starts (and largely ends) with a 378-cubic-inch LT1 V-8 with a blueprinted aluminum block, forged crankshaft and pistons, and CNC-ported heads, then adds a centrifugal supercharger and custom quad-tip exhaust system for a whopping 800 hp and 720 lb-ft of torque. The Yenko/SC Silverado can be had in either two- or four-wheel drive, but in either configuration you'll get an upgraded heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission come with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
Like other products from the Yenko brand, which is now owned by Specialty Vehicle Engineering, the Yenko S/C Silverado will be built in limited quantities. In this case, just 50 trucks will be built for the 2021 model year. And unlike other turnkey third-party builds, this modified truck is available only through GM dealers.
In addition to those 800 supercharged ponies you'll also get eight-piston Brembo brake calipers (stamped with the Yenko logo) paired with 16.1-inch vented rotors, a sport suspension system that lowers the truck 2.0 inches in the front and 5.0 inches in the rear, a heavy-duty anti-roll bar and upgraded bushings, and a set of 22-inch six-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 305/45 performance rubber.
Helping to distinguish your truck from lesser Silverados is a body-color Yenko S/C insert for the tailgate, Yenko graphics and badges, and a unique interior with the Yenko S/C logo engraved on the door sill plates and embroidered on the seats.
Of course, this level of power and personalization comes at a cost. The base Yenko S/C Silverado package starts at $79,995—and that doesn't include the price of a new 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab or double cab pickup truck. That's more than what Hennessey charges for the Goliath 700 conversion, but with the Yenko you get the bragging rights that come with its extra 100 horsepower, which is hard to put a price on.
