Our Favorite Mopar Add-Ons for the 2021 Ram TRX
These parts make Ram’s super truck even more extreme, albeit a good deal more pricey, too.
With its 2.0-inch lift, 6.0-inch wider track, flared fenders, and chunky all-terrain tires, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX looks absolutely wicked—even in its base $71,790 form. Yet, the folks at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's Mopar division are taking things a step further with a variety of parts that add an extra skosh of menace and off-road capability to this big beast. These are just a few of the more than 100 Mopar parts available for the TRX that we'd consider pulling the trigger on ourselves.
What more can we say besides the RamBar just looks cool. It also provides a perfect perch for another Mopar piece we'd write a check for
Off-Road LED Lights ($595)
These four LED lights mount to the top of the RamBar and give the chunky piece a purpose beyond just looking cool. Each 5.0-inch unit projects 4,800 lumens of light to better help navigate the trail ahead once the sun goes down.
Bed-Mounted Spare-Tire Carrier ($995)
On the one hand, this bed-mounted spare-tire carrier allows TRX owners to always have two spare tires on hand (one under the truck, the other in the bed). On the other hand, it all but eliminates the capability of the TRX's bed. Yes, it's a tough decision, but if we needed a truck for hauling stuff, we'd get a run-of-the-mill Ram 1500. The TRX is about hitting the rough stuff, and when you're off the beaten path, there's a good chance you'll take out a tire or two. Plus, the bed-mounted spare-tire carrier just looks cool. Especially when complemented by the RamBar.
Off-Road Rock Rails ($1,195)
Admittedly, these pieces add little to the TRX's look, but each provides a purpose: preventing rocks and the like from scarring the Ram's undersides just below the doors. If you're planning to take your TRX off the beaten path, then a set of rock rails are practically a must.
Beadlock-Capable Wheels ($1,895) + Wheel Rings ($205)
Yes, these 18-inch wheels are pricey pieces, but if you're looking to hit the toughest terrain, then you'll want wheels that are beadlock compatible. This is because beadlocks allow you to lower the tires' air pressure to maximize grip without having to worry about it slipping off of its respective rim. Plus, these 18-inch wheels just look a tad cooler than the standard units.
Bed Step ($395)
Look, this won't actually help this Ram's looks or performance, but it'll surely help a TRX owner (or friend of the owner) grab whatever essentials are in the bed—be it tow straps, recovery tracks, or water. Why struggle to reach into this big truck's box, when you can get an assist by adding this relatively inexpensive bed step?
