As a luxury SUV leader in precision craftsmanship and technology, the fourth-generation, redesigned 2015 Cadillac Escalade and the Cadillac Escalade ESV (20-inches longer) will begin production next spring in Arlington, Texas. Although the exterior remains distinctively Escalade, the redesigned styling cues become immediately apparent. The next evolution of Cadillac’s signature vertical lights becomes evident, with the high-beam headlamps consisting of four vertically stacked crystal lenses and LEDs that incorporate the industry’s first Total Internal Reflection LED function. Five crystal lenses and LEDs constitute the low beams. Upon closer investigation, the headlamp bezel contains the Cadillac logo. Distinguishing the rear of the 2015 Escalades are tall, thin vertical LED taillamps that reach to the top of the Escalade and feature the wreath-and-crest insignia that lights up in the dark. The rear wiper has been embedded within the contours of the spoiler at the top of the rear glass. Body panel gaps have been tightened throughout and new inlaid doors fit into the body side openings to improve aerodynamics while reducing wind noise. “The new Escalade’s surfacing is sophisticated, and the sectioning of the body exudes more emotion to forge a new presence for Cadillac’s iconic SUV,” said Bob Boniface, design director of Cadillac Exteriors.

The new interior is sophisticated and technologically-advanced. The seats have been sculpted for comfort with dual-firmness foam for long-term comfort and longevity. Heated and cooled seats are standard in the front. Real wood and premium cut-and-sewn materials and sueded accents characterize the interior, adding elegance and authenticity. The Escalade will feature Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system as a standard option for the first time.

The 2015 Cadillac Escalade’s power plant will be the all-new direct injection 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 FlexFuel engine with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission with TapShift controls. This amounts to a 5 percent increase in horsepower and 10 percent increase in torque. The 6.2L also has Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation), continuously variable valve timing and an advanced combustion system that allows for a higher compression ratio.

Supporting the standard 20-inch wheels and available 22-inch wheels are a host of chassis and suspension technologies. A 9.5-inch rear axle and standard automatic locking rear differential, wider rear track, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, four-wheel-disc brake system with Duralife rotors, electric variable-assist power steering and Magnetic Ride Control are just a few highlights. Magnetic Ride Control (standard with the Tour and Sport modes) delivers the smooth ride expected from Cadillac by providing real-time damping by “reading” the road every millisecond.

The new Cadillac Escalade will certainly make a statement.
