32 years ago, Dan Scheid started a little shop called Scheid Diesel Service in Terre Haute, Indiana...

Heard of it? We thought so. We've been told this is the anniversary month for the company, so we'll go ahead and give them today's spotlight. Most of you know the Scheid name for its record-setting Cummins-powered dragster, its front-running pulling trucks, or for the company's benchmark event, the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza. In a lot of ways, what Scheid has done with its competition engines really speaks to the adaptive nature that is the modern diesel: sled pulling (tractor) technology can be applied at the dragstrip, and vice versa.

Now, 32 years later, Scheid is made up of three drive-in shop locations (Terre Haute, Indiana, Lafayette, Indiana, and Effingham, Illinois), a separate engine dyno facility, 50 employees, and is easily one of the largest diesel truck-oriented companies in our industry.
