Chevrolet Makes Trail Boss Out Of Legos
There is now a fullsize version of the 2019 Chevrolet LT Trail Boss made completely out of Legos. Eighteen people worked tirelessly on the project. It took them over 2,000 hours to put together the truck, and it features 334,544 Lego pieces. The truck was assembled at Lego’s model shop in Connecticut.
The detail on the truck is incredible. It features Chevy badging, signature red towhooks, wheels, and tires. The lights are even functional. The Lego model Silverado is the same size as the real truck. With all that plastic, the truck weighs in at just over 3,000 pounds. The only thing missing from this truck is the engine.
A time-lapse video shows workers assembling the truck, piece by piece. Hundreds of Legos were selected from color-coded bins and workboxes. The 18 workers glued pieces together for structural integrity. The truck stands 6 feet tall and is over 20 feet long. Computers were used to help guide the workers on the build.
The Silverado Trail Boss Lego version was built to help promote Lego’s latest movie: The Lego Movie 2. The movie will hit theatres on February 8. The truck was unveiled to a group of elementary students just before the North American International Auto Show opened to the public in Detroit.
