EarthCruiser Terranova: Off-Road and Overland Dreams Can Come True…

Just pick a Ford, Chevy, or Ram chassis and sell your house.

Although this $1.7 million machine might be fresh in your memory, EarthCruiser has introduced a new expedition travel vehicle dubbed the EC Terranova. The new camper can be had upon a 2020 Ram 3500, 2020 Ford F-350, or 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 chassis (all with 8-foot beds), a move that targets customers preferring consumer-class vehicles who also possess brand loyalty. In contrast, other expedition vehicles from EarthCruiser are based upon commercial-class, cabover platforms.

From what we've seen of the EarthCruiser Terranova, the overland-ready vehicle appears to have room for 40-inch tires, giving the RV ample ground clearance. Up front, the bumper looks to be brawny enough to house the 16,500-pound winch (requires adding a bull bar to the bumper) while the machine's rear is crafted to maximize the departure angle, with additional room for recovery points, lights, and accessory mounts.

Sure, the off-road capabilities of the EarthCruiser Terranova are bound to impress, but the interior deserves attention, as well. With its roof raised, the EarthCruiser Terranova affords adventurers almost 7 feet of headroom, which shrinks to 62 inches when it's lowered. The camper shell is made from molded structural foam and raising the roof is said to happen without having to unfasten any locks or latches. Interior amenities are said to include a dinette with leather cushions, fiberglass work surfaces, an induction cooktop, recessed ceiling fan, full-height shower, cassette toilet, stainless-steel sink, LED lighting throughout, and much more.
To keep you well-stocked during extended trips off the pavement, the EarthCruiser Terranova carries an onboard fresh water tank with a Shurflo pump, two (three are optional) 108-watt solar panels with a solar controller and monitoring system, a 130L Isotherm refrigerator with provisions to mount an additional Engel electric auxiliary fridge, toolboxes and locking storage around the vehicle, and ample space for mounting external accessories (recovery boards, spare tires, etc).

We look forward to a more in-depth look at the EarthCruiser Terranova and as of yet, pricing (and other details) have not yet been released. However, looking at EarthCruiser's FX model (starts at $285,000), decked-out EXP model (around $370,000), and fully upfitted EXD model ($265,000), we don't expect the price tag to be anything short of two college educations.
