Fisker may be the next company to jump into the electric truck business. Last week on Twitter, Henrik Fisker teased a photo rendering of the rear of a pickup truck. The tailgate had Fisker written in large letters and a Fisker badge.

Henrik Fisker has been attempting to launch his own electric start-up company since 2013. Earlier this year, Fisker announced a $40,000 electric car—which has yet to be produced. The Fisker EMotion EV boasts a 400-mile range. Now it appears Henrik Fisker is ready to jump into the truck and SUV world. In addition to the truck rendering, Fisker has been tweeting photos of an SUV that features a solar roof. There is no word at the moment if the truck will also have the solar roof. Fisker does say his next two EVs will be built on the same platform and are expected to hit the market in 2021.

For those keeping track of the EV market, Rivian unveiled an electric SUV and truck last year. Ford recently announced a prototype electric truck. Bolinger Motors and Atlis both have prototype electric trucks. Elon Musk has yet to unveil Tesla's electric truck. Musk has hinted at the truck coming sometime this summer. Keep in mind, summer is almost over and the clock is ticking for Tesla. It seems the race is on for companies to build electric trucks. Time will only tell how much demand there actually is for one and who will win this EV race.
