Ridetech StreetGrip Lowering Kit For 2004 to 2008 Ford F-150

There are a lot of companies that specialize in lifting trucks, but for those who prefer a lower, more street-oriented stance, the options can seem at times limited. Fortunately, the experts at Ridetech continue to pump out new and innovative products for the most popular (not just newest) pickup models. The most recent is the company's StreetGrip system for 2004 -2008 Ford F-150 pickups.

This kit uses new front steering knuckles, along with Ridetech monotube coilover shocks featuring Fox shock technology (Ridetech was acquired by Fox in 2019), and a leaf spring "flip kit" for the rear. This produces is a drop of 3-4 inches in the front and 5-6 inches in the rear, which is fairly significant in the world of lowered trucks. The monotube front and rear shocks also come with a 1,000,001-mile warranty.
The whole kit will set you back about $2,500.

Heatshield Products Lava Wrap

Exhaust headers are a great way to improve the performance of just about any truck engine. Unfortunately, ditching the restrictive factory manifolds for a set of short or long-tube headers can also produce a lot of unwanted under-hood heat. This is where the experts from Heatshield Products come in with their Lava Wrap line of exhaust heatshield wrap.

Lava Wrap is produced with a proprietary weave of volcanic rock-based fibers that work to keep more heat inside the exhaust tubes and out of the engine bay. The Lava Wrap fibers are more durable and 25 percent stronger than traditional fiberglass exhaust wrap products. Lava Wrap can withstand up to 1,200 degrees of direct-contact heat and 2,000 degrees of intermittent heat. It also maintains its flexibility even after multiple heat cycles, can be removed and reinstalled as needed, and is solvent- and oil-resistant. Best of all, it's made right here in the USA.
