We made sure to wait until after April Fool's Day to break this news to you...

But Ram Trucks beat out Chevy's Silverado in monthly sales—and it might be the first time that's ever happened.

To be fair, Ram includes its Class 4 and 5 chassis cab models in its truck sales figures (as well as 3500 models ordered in chassis cab configurations) whereas GM offers no vehicle in either of these categories. But then again, the numbers have always been tallied this way.

There's no denying that, month after month, we're seeing Ram Trucks make significant market gains. And why do we love Rams so much? On its HD models, the take rate for the Cummins engine option is 85 percent. In case you were wondering, the take rate on GM's Duramax and Ford's Power Stroke is much lower than that.
