Toyota Distributor and Bass Pro Shops Team Up for Special-Edition 2015 Tundra
BPS Tundra Available in Gulf States Region in October
Gulf States Toyota unveiled the 2015 Toyota Tundra Bass Pro Shops Off-Road Edition September 25 at the State Fair of Texas. Based on the Tundra 4x4 CrewMax SR5, the Bass Pro Shops rig adds 20-inch wheels and special tires, side steps, a spray-on bedliner, fender flares, a stainless steel exhaust tip, and special Bass Pro Shops branding for the floor mats and exterior decals.
“In the Gulf States pick-up trucks and being outdoors are a natural way of life, and that’s why we’ve developed the 2015 Toyota Tundra Bass Pro Shops Off-Road Edition,” said Marty Collins, president and general manager of Gulf States Toyota.
The BPS Tundra comes equipped with a 5.7L V-8 (as opposed to the Tundra’s standard 4.7L V-8) and a towing package, which should help the trucks’ owners haul their speedboats, fishing dinghies, and quads more easily. In addition to the aforementioned goodies, buyers of the special-edition truck also get one of four packages from Bass Pro Shops catered toward hunting, camping, fishing, or marine sports. The outdoor outfitter values these packages at about $1,000 each.
The truck marks the first collaboration between Bass Pro Shops and Gulf States Toyota, an independent Toyota distributor for 154 dealerships in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. The companies are quick to point out that these Toyotas, like all Tundras, are built in San Antonio, Texas, at a facility that employs more than 2,900 people.
The truck will go on sale in October with a $43,975 suggested starting price.
