Toyota has announced it is investing $391 million into the San Antonio truck assembly plant. The plant builds Toyota's Tundra and Tacoma models. Once the full investment is complete, Toyota's total investment in the truck plant will exceed $3 billion. The investment is part of Toyota's commitment to building vehicles where they are sold. Companywide, Toyota is investing $13 billion across all of its U.S. operations.

Seven-thousand two-hundred people work at the San Antonio Plant, which includes employees from its 23 on-site suppliers. Toyota indirectly employs 475,000 Americans across the country who support its operations. The Texas investment is a result of strong customer demand to help make its San Antonio plant more competitive and flexible with multi-vehicle production capabilities.
