Diesel's Challenges
If you haven't been following updates on social media or the Ultimate Callout Challenge/Diesel Performance Industry (DPI) Expo's website, the event that we thought we would be attending in early May, is now postponed until July (10th to 12th).
Now in its fifth year (twice in Salt Lake City, Utah, and 2020 is the third year that the event takes place at Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Brownsburg, Indiana), UCC/DPI—the diesel industry's biggest, highest-profile confab, bar none—joins a growing list of motorsports competitions that are being canceled or pushed out to other dates later in the year.

Many Diesel Power Challenge alumni have gone on to compete in The Ultimate Callout Challenge (Jesse Warren, Charlie Keeter, Jaran Holder, Dmitri Millard, Aaron Rudolf, Chase Fleece, and others), and one DPC graduate, Lavon Miller of Firepunk Diesel (Class of 2014 and 2015), literally dominated UCC from 2016 to 2018, capturing three victories during that time span. Competitors for the Diesel Power Challenge Class of 2019 were announced by editor KJ Jones during the event's opening ceremonies.
For folks who attended UCC 2019 and those who missed the action, which included Outlaw Diesel Super Series heads-up drag racing, phenomenal dyno performances, massive carnage, and Derek Rose of DNR Customs, finally tasting victory after coming close several times, here's a look back at some of our photos, videos, and stats from the event, to hold you over until we finally get to Indy for UCC 2020.
