2005 Sport/Utility of the Year Wallpaper Gallery

A collection of downloadable photography from our Sport/Utility of the Year testing.

By Editors of Motor Trend

Imagine hearing Elmer Bernstein's theme from "The Magnificent Seven" play as Motor Trend's collection of 2005 Sport/Utility of the Year contenders swaggered into town seeking the title: Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape Hybrid, Ford Freestyle, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Infiniti QX56, and Nissan Pathfinder. Some are Yul Brynner or Charles Bronson types, others were more like Steve McQueen. And then there were some more like Robert Vaughn and Brad Dexter; gunslingers for sure, but too dapper or boyish to hang with the tough guys.

We've assembled an assortment of images from the testing, so you can make your own decisions. Download your favorites to your desktop today, and check back on Wednesday to find out which one wins the title of 2005 Sport/Utility of the Year.

To read more on the seven sport/utilities pictured here, grab the December copy of Motor Trend magazine, on newsstands beginning November 1, 2004.
