What It Is
The smaller of the GMT900 SUV platforms, the Tahoe is the full-size SUV for those looking for moderate size and girth.
What You Should Know
The active fuel-management system on the 5.3-liter V-8 can shut off four cylinders when the power isnit needed and improve fuel economy up to 20 percent over non-AFM engines. Big and heavy, it gets all the options the Suburban gets but costs less, base pricing at $35K.
Bottom Line
A solid improvement over past generations, but some will miss the Tahoeis more rugged look and capability.
