Long-Term Update: 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Nearing the end of its time in our midst, this car suffered a minor mishap. It was being moved from one of our garage levels to another, and the driver somehow didn't notice that he'd hit the electronic rear hatch opener, so it had an impact with an immovable ceiling-type object. We're not sure how the "open" button got pushed or whether it was knocked before the vehicle started moving or after, but it's still a trip to the body shop. While it's in for repair, we'll treat it to some detailing, since the light beige-colored seats and interior trim pieces have suffered the daily grind of shoe scuffs, dirty pants, and filthy fingers.

The Pacifica recently went on a trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco carrying four adults, having plenty of room for the cargo and offering much-appreciated comfort for the occupants. The NAV system saved the day when it was discovered that maps were left behind, although it was noted that polarized sunglasses make it hard to read the center-of-the-instrument-cluster NAV screen. We'll be sorry to see this luxurious wagon/'ute/crossover go. It's like "the little engine that could." It can, and it has--very well.
