"The drone Art and Brian speak of seems to appear only at a precise rpm level," notes Associate Online Editor Kirill Ougarov. "I believe it was around 2500 rpm. It is very annoying and seems as if it's intake noise." Ougarov also observes that "the bottom of the seat headrest shoves itself into your back when you lean your head back on it"-an unfortunate byproduct of the active head restraint. Not that the Borrego didn't impress Ougarov in a positive manner. "The engine has a very nice powerband, and I'm going to second the positive comments about the nav, especially the lack of safety nannies for when the car is in motion. Too many automakers are forgetting about the existence of the front passenger."
At 7500 miles, the Borrego went in for its first service visit, a $168.22 oil change, full inspection, and tire rotation.
